Orientation - Welcome to School!

This free intro to dog training is meant to be one of the lessons for our Manners and Puppy classes. 

All students in our Manners and Puppy classes should attend the Orientation, preferably before their first class.  However, students should not postpone their start dates in order to do orientation first.

The orientation session is free to the public, but the intended audience is people with dogs enrolled in our manners or puppy classes. Some information will be class-specific, but most of it will apply to anyone with a dog. If you're thinking of taking a class, and aren't sure, the Orientation will definitely help you decide whether Ahimsa is a good fit for you.

In this session, you will learn about the ways that dogs learn and get an introduction to using the clicker to train dogs and other animals.  We will also discuss how to get rid of problem behaviors and get you ready for class at Ahimsa Dog Training.

If you have signed up for a class with us, this is also where you will get your clicker and, when applicable, walking harness (Puppy Socialization, Puppy Catch-Up, Dog Manners).

TO BRING:  Receipt for your class (for the harness), note-taking materials.   Please do NOT bring your dog to the orientation.

Students: If none of the live Orientations fits your schedule, don't despair!  Much of the same material is available to students in our online in our orientation videos. See your registration confirmation email to get the link and your password for the orientation videos.
